Downtown Milford Inc.
What?
Downtown
Milford Inc. is a non-profit organization (as defined by Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986) to promote quality
development of the traditional central business district of Milford,
Delaware. To learn more, read DMI’s

Where?
The Downtown Milford District is currently defined as the area roughly
bound by North Front Street on the north, Church Street on the west,
Causey Avenue/SE Front Street on the South and Denny Row/Washington
Street on the East. This area is shown on the
DMI map.
Who?
Members of DMI are merchants and residents of the downtown area—and
anyone else who would like to contribute to the improvement of this
vital part of Milford.
DMI’s board of directors and committees are
responsible for planning and implementing various projects. Please
contact us
if you would like to become a member of Downtown Milford Inc. or would
like additional information about DMI.
Why?
The members of
DMI want to preserve this area’s rich historic heritage and bring new
life and purpose to it. We have focused on:

developing the area’s infrastructure through projects such as the
Downtown Streetscape Program and the Mispillion Riverwalk;
-
improving the quality of our downtown real
estate through programs such as our matching
grant program for structural and facade
improvements;

attracting and supporting businesses which can
make the most productive use of the downtown real estate, for example
through our revolving small
business loan program;
-
organizing and supporting community events in
the downtown area such as
Saturday Farmer’s Market, Milford
Heritage Festival, Holiday Glow and
Santa’s House.
When?
DMI members and supporters have been meeting on a regular basis since
1993. Currently DMI meetings
are held at 7PM on the first Thursday of each month in the community
room located in the lower level of the Milford Public Library located at
11 SE Front Street.
